Pebble Round 2 Revolutionizes Smartwatch Design with Slimmer Bezel

In 2015, Pebble launched the Time Round, a circular version of its original smartwatch. Now, Pebble returns with the Pebble Round 2, offering a new, refined design.

A New Display with Thinner Bezel

The biggest change is the display. The original Pebble Time Round had a large bezel around its screen. In the Pebble Round 2, Pebble reduced the bezel significantly. The 1.3-inch e-paper screen now takes up most of the watch face, giving it a modern look.

The screen has a 260 x 260 resolution, doubling the pixel density to 283 pixels per inch compared to the original. It also supports touch input and includes four small side buttons for traditional control. Plus, it has a backlight for use in low light.

Battery Life and Design

Pebble equipped the Round 2 with a new Bluetooth chip that extends the battery life to two weeks per charge. Despite the powerful battery, the watch remains slim, measuring just 8.1mm thick.

The device includes an accelerometer and magnetometer for basic fitness tracking. Haptic feedback comes from a linear resonance actuator, enhancing user interaction.

Track Sleep and Steps, Not Fitness

While the Pebble Round 2 can track sleep and steps, it’s not designed as a fitness tracker. It’s ideal for casual use but not for serious fitness enthusiasts. This might make it less appealing for users who want more advanced fitness tracking, like with the Apple Watch.

The Pebble Round 2 runs on PebbleOS, which connects with an open-source app for both iOS and Android. It also supports various apps and watch faces available from the Pebble Appstore.

Voice Interaction and AI

Dual microphones allow users to control the watch with voice commands. You can use the voice system to interact with AI and reply to messages. However, the voice feature is only available for Android users at first. Pebble plans to bring iOS support in the EU soon.

This feature follows the launch of the Pebble Index 01 in December 2025, a ring for recording voice notes and saving them to nearby smartphones.
