How to Share Audio With Two AirPods

Follow these steps to enable Audio Sharing:

  1. Connect your AirPods and place them in your ears.
  2. Start playing any audio from your iPhone or iPad.
  3. Open the Control Center (swipe down from the top right).
  4. Tap the AirPlay icon (or your AirPods image in the Music app).
  5. Tap “Share Audio…”

Connect the Second Pair of AirPods

  1. Bring your friend’s AirPods case (with AirPods inside) close to your device.
  2. Open the lid to activate pairing mode.
  3. Tap “Share Audio” on the popup.
  4. If prompted, hold the button on the back of their AirPods case.
  5. Wait for confirmation, and you’re ready to listen together.

🎧 You’ll see both AirPods listed under your playback controls.

Adjusting Volume Controls

  • The host device controls volume for both sets.
  • However, each listener can adjust their own AirPods’ volume manually.
  • This keeps the experience flexible and personalized.

Use Audio Sharing With Apple TV

If you have an Apple TV 4K (tvOS 14 or newer):

  • Open Control Center on the Apple TV
  • Select Audio Sharing
  • Connect both pairs of AirPods just like on iPhone or iPad

It’s a great way to watch movies in shared silence with someone else.

Tips for Best Experience

  • Ensure both sets of AirPods are fully charged
  • Works best with iOS 18 or later
  • Keep AirPods in close proximity to the iPhone for faster pairing
  • For best audio sync, connect AirPods before playing media

Conclusion

With Apple’s Audio Sharing, you can easily share audio with two AirPods on your iPhone or iPad. Whether you’re watching a movie, listening to a playlist, or tuning in to a podcast, it’s a seamless, private way to enjoy content together.

Ditch the splitter cables and enjoy the wireless freedom of shared audio.
