Apple is gearing up for a busy start to 2026—with six major product launches expected in the coming months. From budget MacBooks to updated iPads and a new iPhone, the tech giant is set to refresh much of its lineup early this year.
1. MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and M5 Max
Last fall, Apple introduced the base M5 chip in the 14-inch MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and Vision Pro. However, it held back the Pro and Max variants. Now, reports confirm 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips will arrive in early 2026—mirroring the January 2023 timing of the M2 Pro/Max launch.
2. New 12.9-inch Budget MacBook
For years, fans have asked for an affordable MacBook to rival Chromebooks. This year, Apple may finally deliver. A new 12.9-inch MacBook is in the works, powered by an iPhone-class A18 Pro chip. It’s expected to come in fun colors and carry a $599–$699 price tag. Analyst Jeff Pu predicts a mid-Q1 2026 release.
3. New iPad with A18 Chip
Apple updated its base iPad with the A16 Bionic in 2025. Now, the next model will jump to the A18 chip—enabling full Apple Intelligence support. While the design likely stays the same, the internal upgrade will bring meaningful AI capabilities to the entry-level tablet.
4. iPhone 17e
Following the surprise launch of the iPhone 16e in February 2025, Apple plans to continue its new “e” line. The iPhone 17e is expected very early in 2026. It will feature the same A19 chip as the iPhone 17, plus a Center Stage front camera, Dynamic Island, thinner bezels, and MagSafe. Like its predecessor, it will likely cost $599 and include just one rear camera.
5. M5 MacBook Air
Apple will also refresh its ultra-thin laptop. The M5 MacBook Air is coming in 13-inch and 15-inch sizes—with no design changes expected. The main upgrade will be the new M5 chip, plus minor improvements in performance and efficiency.
6. M4 iPad Air
The iPad Air is also due for an update. Rumors point to an M4 chip for stronger performance and new color options. Note: an OLED iPad Air is still in development but won’t arrive until 2027. For now, the M4 model will be a modest but welcome refresh.
Wildcard: New Apple Studio Display
Apple may also unveil a new Studio Display. Expected upgrades include 120Hz ProMotion, HDR support, an A19 chip, and a Center Stage camera. Given Apple rarely updates its displays, this could be a significant release for creative professionals.
In summary, Apple’s early 2026 launches span every major category—offering something for students, professionals, and budget-conscious buyers alike. With AI integration, new chips, and fresh designs, this could be one of Apple’s most impactful product cycles in years.
